I created Design for Therapists because I saw how many thoughtful, talented therapists had websites that didn’t reflect who they really were. So many felt generic, sterile, or disconnected from the warmth and individuality that clients actually experience when they meet the therapist behind the site. That gap stayed with me, and it’s what led me to start this business over fifteen years ago.
My path into this work has never been just design or just therapy — it’s both.
I studied Graphic Design at the University of Notre Dame and began my career working in print and web design. Later, I felt pulled toward a different kind of work: one that might feel more connecting and meaningful to me. That led me back to school to study art therapy at New York University. Today, I continue to split my time between design work and a small private therapy practice—a balance that has shaped the way I work with therapist clients.
Because I’m a therapist too, I understand that your website is not just a marketing tool. It’s often someone’s first impression of you. Before they ever send an email or make a call, they’re trying to get a feeling: Do I feel comfortable here? Do I trust this person? Can I see myself reaching out? That’s why I care so much about creating websites that feel clear, grounded, welcoming, and truly representative of the person behind the practice.

I love helping therapists create an online presence that feels like an extension of their real work.
My sites are not overly polished, not cookie-cutter, and not full of marketing language that doesn’t sound like you. Just thoughtful design that helps the right people feel more at ease and more ready to connect.
After twenty-five years in New York City, I’m now based in Philadelphia and I work with therapists, group practices, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other helping professionals who want a website that feels both professional and personal. Whether you’re starting from scratch or reworking something outdated, my goal is to make the process feel collaborative, supportive, and a lot less overwhelming than you might expect.
At the heart of it, this work is about helping good clinicians show up online in a way that feels genuine. I know how much care therapists bring to their work, and I believe their websites should reflect that care too.
If you’re ready to create a site that feels more like you, I’d love to help.
